Ebay Shark's Ultimate Guide: To finding things to sell

Written by Ebay Shark

The question on most every ebayer’s mind after they clean their house out of unwanted items is “Where can I find things to sell on Ebay?” This is the holy grail of Ebay questions, and once you find a good source of items for your business you can get those profits your looking for.

This guide will primarily focus on websites that offer wholesale products, drop shippers, and other great websites for finding items. So think of this guide as more of a web guide to finding things to sell. I will however list a few ideas for sourcing merchandise.

Garage Sales – Spend a few dollars shopping around your neighborhood and reap the benefits of one man’s junk, will be your treasure.
Government Auctions – You can find almost anything at these, even houses.
Ebay – If you know your niche market you can buy and sell right on ebay, think antiques, coins, art etc. These items can net large profits if you know what you’re doing.
Flea Markets/Swap meets/Church bazaars – Chalk full of cheap items, but beware they are often just that.
Online Wholesale/Dropshipping Sites – What this guide will focus on, buy directly at wholesale and cut out the middleman.

Drop shipping – is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock, but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. As in all retail businesses, the retailers make their profit on the difference between the wholesale and retail price.

Beware of “Wholesale or Drop shipper Lists” many websites will offer these lists of “legitimate” companies but in reality a good deal of them are scams. They are filled with lists of non-wholesalers who are usually individuals who offer no products to sell and if they do they’re marking things up that leave little to no profit for the victim.

I suggest getting a book such as Drop Shipping For Sellers

from Amazon. I found it to be really helpful to me when I got serious about finding a drop shipper.

Next we’re going to get into some websites we recommend. Now we get to the real meat of the guide. You can find thousands of products on these sites for very cheap.

To kick things off we have http://www.liquidation.com/

First of all, register to this site, you’ll thank me later. Check out their help section to get you rolling but your basically going to be bidding on wholesale lots. I’ve personally purchased many things off this site. The shipping is fast as lightning and the price is right. I only wish I had more capital to purchase bigger lots and make even more money. But if you have little $$ you can still find great lots. IMPORTANT: Pay VERY close attention to the CONDITION. You can buy lots that are New, Used, Refurbished, Returns, Shelfpulls and Salvage. I’d stick to buying new lots at first that will insure you don’t buy broken items. So unless your feeling lucky i’d stay away from the returns and used sections. Most lots are sold as-is and if you received damage goods theres not a whole lot you can do. So pay close attention to the condition.

Next up is http://www.govliquidation.com/

Everything from airplane parts to x-ray equipment. You never know what you might find on here, GL is dedictated to keeping idle inventory moving out so you can find some great deals.

Here we have a dropshipper https://www.megagoods.com/ – is a wholesale electronics distributor of the widest range of electronic equipment for a fast growing number of dealers and retailers. As a wholesale electronics distributor, we have built a solid reputation as a reliable, efficient and dependable electronics wholesale distributor, offering our clients an enormous variety of products at rock bottom prices. Many popular products for sale, there is a membership fee.

Now we come to the last website recomendation. http://www.gowholesale.com/ – Think of it as a search engine for finding products, businesses and more. I found many great sites through this portal.

Here I have compiled a list of great books on Amazon all about finding items for ebay. Check it out here.

There are so many ways to find merchandise you just have to look. Once you find that one great source that is right for you, you’re on your way to a succesfull ebay business.

We’ll update this guide when I find new websites that need to be added. If you know of one let us know ebaysharks@gmail.com
